Professor Ramon Z. Shaban, Clinical Chair and Director of Communicable Disease Control and Infection Prevention at the Western Sydney Local Health District, is the lead investigator and project director of the project which has received a 2022 MRFF (Medical Research Future Fund) Clinician Researchers – Nurse, Midwives and Allied Health grant for AUD$1.4 million.

Dr Jelena Rnjak-Kovacina is a Scientia Associate Professor and ARC Future Fellow leading a multidisciplinary group at the Graduate School of Biomedical Engineering, UNSW Sydney in Australia.

He is a clinical haematologist and haematopathologist with current appointments at Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre, the Royal Melbourne Hospital, Austin Health and Northern Health.
