Adjunct Professor Manya Angley is an Advanced Practice Pharmacist. Manya spent the first 20 years of her career as a teaching and research academic at the University of South Australia. She currently works as a credentialed pharmacist and researcher through her business, Manya Angley Research and Consulting (MARAC).
Her professional activities are focused in general practice, disability and aged care. She continues to undertake research in medicines safety at care transitions and quality use of medicines in the aged care and disability sectors. Manya has just stepped down as SA/NT Branch President of the Pharmaceutical Society of Australia (July 2023-June 2026) was previously vice-president (2022-2023).
Manya was the proud recipient of the Pharmaceutical Society of Australia (SA/NT Branch) Pharmacist of the Year (2021) and the Australian Association of Consultant Pharmacy MIMS Consultant Pharmacist of the Year (2021).
Manya holds, or has held, positions on various multidisciplinary Department of Health, Disability and Ageing (DoHDA) and the ACSQHC technical expert committees. She is regularly invited to present at National pharmacy conferences and to present to other disciplines.
Manya was appointed an Adjunct Professor at the University of Western Australia in 2025.

Visceral pain and the gut-brain axis
Professor Stuart Brierley is Director of the Visceral Pain Research Group, Director of the Hopwood Centre for Neurobiology, and Theme co-Leader of Lifelong Health at the South Australian Health and Medical Research Institute (SAHMRI).
Prof Brierley is an international expert on the ‘gut-brain axis’ and chronic visceral pain mechanisms. Current investigations are on a individual cell type called the enterochromaffin cell, and it helps signal pain and anxiety from the gastrointestinal tract to the brain.

Lasers, microbiology and dental materials in clinical dental practice
Professor Laurence Walsh AO is an Emeritus Professor at the University of Queensland, holding an adjunct title at Griffith University and a part-time position as the Chief Dental Officer at Dentroid, which is based in Canberra. In addition to these roles, he serves on several committees of the Dental Association and is the current president of the Australian Society for Laser Dentistry.

Personalised approaches to lung therapy
Dr. Adams’ research focus is on lung cancer, which is the deadliest of all cancers worldwide. He is working towards developing personalised approaches to pinpoint a therapy that is going to be most effective for the person with that disease. Dr. Adams’ research is focusing on chemotherapy and targeted therapy, and he is trying to identify upfront which of those tumours are likely to be resistant to the therapy. He then identifies strategies that will resensitize or increase the sensitivity of the tumour to the standard of care that is targeted therapy or chemotherapy.
